Most of what’s here started as a problem. I’ve written it up so the next person searching for answers to the same problem can save a few minutes… maybe I’ll even find my own answers again!

I keep systems alive that remotely monitor critical power systems in hundreds of sites 24/7. This keeps the internet on for over 100,000 homes & businesses, planes safe in the sky, data centres online and manufacturing plants running.

I also like to build tools to make my job easier.
My biggest project for flying is my personalised logbook. This is a Flask application with offline mode PWA + sync, simulator logging & stats generation. Here’s a visual of my flights & simulator duties in the past year (excluding classroom based instructing):
